Human-in-the-loop citation review

Independent citation verification
for briefs and court orders

2dcite matches attorneys and judges with qualified law students (2L/3L) who independently check citations for accuracy, format, and support. Receive a formal Certificate of Citation Review as evidence of best efforts and risk mitigation.

Important

Ultimate liability for any brief, order, filing, or legal work product always remains with the licensed attorney or judge.

Checking citations is a non-delegable professional duty. The law student provides an independent verification layer only.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Upload & pay

Attorney or judge uploads a PDF, chooses Standard or Rush, accepts liability acknowledgments, and pays. Funds are held by 2dcite.

  2. Step 2

    Matched

An approved 2L/3L student with no active assignment is auto-assigned and accepts the job.

  3. Step 3

    Independent review

Student reviews citations for accuracy, format, and whether authorities support the propositions—then attests.

  4. Step 4

    Certificate & release

System auto-generates the Certificate of Citation Review. Student share is released from hold; platform retains its fee.

Payment is collected when you submit your document. 2dcite holds the funds until a Certificate of Citation Review is issued. The student reviewer’s share is released only after the system automatically generates the Certificate of Citation Review. The platform retains its service fee.
